Document Storage and Libraries
The Sentinel Range of Dehumidifiers can be wall mounted or ceiling hung to keep them out of the way whilst circulating and dehumidifying the air. The HD55 & HDi90 units can be remotely controlled via cat 5 cable to a wall mounted panel. The units are also quiet in running allowing for easy communication or in the hush of a library.
A number of different filters can be added to the Sentinel Units from the HEPA filter to the Activated Carbon Filter (it comes with the Standard G3 filter).
Paper is highly susceptible to changes in the Humidity as it is easy to take on water, unfortunately once it has got wet it is very hard to dry correctly and does not tend to return to its original state.
Once the paper is wet it can also be affected by mould which will mark it, the fibres slowly break down and become unstable and eventually will fall apart, destroying the paper documentation. This is why it is critical to ensure the correct levels of humidity are maintained.
Libraries, Document Storage Facilities, Museums - in fact anywhere where paper is stored for safe keeping or reading the right Humidity levels need to be maintained. Paper can also be affected if the humidity gets too low - this doesn't often happen but when it does the paper dries out and crumbles.
Often some documents are the only records available and are hence highly important - investing in a dehumidifier is the correct course of action.
For Larger rooms we have the Sentinel SLGR 1400X, this comes with a per filter and HEPA filter, stands on the floor on 4 castors and can be easily moved around the room.
All Sentinel Units can be ducted from (the expelled dryer air) allowing for use of a blown air if required for targeted drying should this be a requirement at all.
Alternatively check out the Storm Range of dehumidifiers including the wifi enabled Storm 850C.
For controlling the air quality we have the Cleanshield HEPA 550 Air Scrubber, this is a portable unit which can be placed to provide either cleaning via extraction or cleaning by pushing in clean air into a clean room environment creating a "positive pressure room".
In the first case as per the picture to the right the unit is used for removing any airborne particles after a cleaning process has happened or as part of a changing room, the air is sucked out through the air scrubber cleaning it as it passes the pre-filter, HEPA filter and Activated Carbon Filter.
When using the Cleanshield HEPA 550 Air Scrubber as a positive pressure air scrubber the set up is different, the dirty air is drawn into the machine and cleaned and then pumped out of the machine via ducting into a "Clean Room"environment. The additional air in the clean room creates a positive pressure in that room so anyone entering the room will not be able to drag dirty air in as when they open the door the pressure in the room will push the air out and not allow air to come into the room (for a limited time - door should not be left open!!). The Cleanshield HEPA 550 Air Scrubber has a variable speed control and also a pressure sensitive function showing when the HEPA / Activated Carbon filter needs to be changed.
